The carbon fiber used in the carbon fiber drive shaft is mainly made of polypropionitrile fiber, which is processed into extremely fine fiber filaments through special processes such as high-temperature carbonization, which improves the strength of the monofilament and increases the surface area of a certain amount of fiber 3 times, stiffness higher than 2 times, fatigue resistance higher than 2 times, it is a very attractive fiber reinforced material, with high strength, high modulus, high temperature resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance and many other excellent properties. The strength of general-purpose carbon fiber is 3,500MPa, which is much higher than the strength of steel 340Mpa.
2.Lightweight The density of carbon fiber material is 1.8 g/cm3, and the density of steel is 7.8 g/cm3. The data shows that the carbon fiber composite transmission shaft can reduce the mass by at least 40% compared with the traditional metal transmission shaft, including the metal link parts of the two sections of the transmission shaft. For every 1% reduction in the mass of common parts of automobiles, 1% of fuel can be saved, and moving parts such as transmission shafts can save 2% of fuel.
3.High critical speed Among the many performance parameters of the automobile drive shaft, the critical speed is a very important parameter. When the rotation speed of the transmission shaft is the same as the natural frequency of its bending vibration, the transmission shaft will resonate and there is a danger of breaking. The carbon fiber composite transmission shaft has excellent mechanical properties and displacement compensation capability, and a single shaft tube can meet the requirements of use.
